Smile Nikon d3100 settings

hi i am new to photography, i had my D3100 for two months now. when i took picture from default setting and look at it in my laptop, the picture was so pale. so i decided to increase the saturation, the sharpness and put to A2 my WB(AUTO).. The image from my laptop looks great now, but when i tried printing it..the color was not balance...

Can anybody suggest what is the best setting for nikon d3100? for PORTRAIT & LANDSCAPE.. a setting that will also look great in print.. any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Max, Sit down, I got this one for you!

There are way to many possible settings for anyone to tell you what to use. It all depends on what, where, when and how...

Many many questions there, what mode? Auto? Time of day, lighting? What lens? etc..

I suggest getting out the manual for it and reading it (again) also pick up Bryan Peterson's Understanding exposure and read it too! Amazon.com: Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs with a Film or Digital Camera (Updated Edition) (9780817463007): Bryan Peterson: Books

Also, try and calibrate your laptop screen....do you see the same results while viewing on your D3100 LCD screen as you do on the laptop?
