Does anyone have an opinion on the relative merits of these two products -- Redynamics is cheaper and easier but only uses the one photo to work it's magic -- I've seen some photos that used it and it looks pretty good. And someone on this site posted wonderful photos using photomatix which is more expensive and uses the usual three photos to combine ... is it worth getting the Redynamics plugin (also looking at their package which has a black and white component ...)

Any plug-in that is using only 1 photo to achieve HDR is not giving you HDR. It is just an effect the mimics some of the look that seems to have become popular..
Media Chance, the company that produces Redynamics, has a true HDR program called "Dynamic Photo -HDR". It is a little cheaper than Photomatix. There are likely several other programs out there at all levels of price point. |
