What’s Your Preference?

Is there a way to batch process a folder of images, and the only thing I want to do is save them in a low quality JPEG (in the same folder, just overwrite the image)... I can't seem to find the setting in CS5 unless I do a "Save As" for each image!

You can create an action then apply to a batch.

If you are just resizing there are free tools that work really fast and do a great job for that task.
Faststone is pretty spiffy.

The problem is I'm not sure where the setting is to change the JPG quality? Otherwise I could just make an action for a batch!

I actually have Faststone - is there an option in there somewhere about downing the quality of a JPG?

Awesome. Glad you found it. Hey maybe write back the steps you took to create your photoshop batch, i am sure others would be interested!

I thought I did? Hm. Anyway I went to File > Scripts > Image Processor in Photoshop, and there's options for converting your files (or just saving them with different settings - like lower quality!) yay!
