Question Lightroom OR Aperture????

Hey guys!

I'm an aspiring photographer thinking of starting my own wedding photography business in the future.

I'm looking into getting software for post processing and after some research I've decided I will get either Lightroom OR Aperture AND Photoshop.

I will get free trials for both LR and Aperture, but before I wanted to get some insight on if people thought one works better and why, or are they basically the same.
So the question is:

Lightroom or Aperture?

Thank you so much in advance!!

Download the demo and try them out. See which one you like best. Answers will vary, but it's really down to personal preference.

I like Lightroom.
One thing to consider, Lightroom is platform agnostic. It runs on windows or mac os. This substantially increases the user community and the number of tutorials, tips, wigets, presets and help you can find.

I like Lightroom too. I could never get into Aperture. I mean, it took me a while to really get into LR too, but for some reason I never really took to Aperture. However, lots of people do absolutely love it. So you really are best trying them both out and seeing which one works for you.

Hello, I fully tried both. But I really prefer Aperture one. I like the workspace, tools, components, organizing...
I am working on Mac computer and I think this is much more better OS then Windows for photography adjustments, so that's why I also trust to Aperture more.

As a mac fan, I use and recommend Lightroom because it is integrated with all other Adobe products, like Photoshop and it gets the best reviews at the moment.

Then there is the plug-in issue, many programs have plugins for all of Adobe’s products. Be sure to try all the programs that you are considering with the plug-ins from others.

The only way to decide is to try them both yourself.

I really tried to like Aperture, but I just can't get there.

I think the basic split among Aperture/Lightroom users is whether or not you like the structure of LR's "modular" approach (i.e., the Library / Develop / Slideshow / Print / Web modules, where you only have access to certain functions of the program), or if you're more freewheeling and want access to all the functions all the time in Aperture's non-modular approach.

I've never used Aperture. I'm happy with Lightroom, as the modules pretty much fit my workflow and the way my brain works. But I'm also good with folders and hierarchical upside-down tree structures, and my desktop is not littered with dozens of icons. Everybody has their own way of doing things.
