Hi Everyone:
I just purchased photoshop CS5 and I don't know where to begin. I mean, I don't even know how to import my images. (I know this is sad, but true ) I am looking for your recommendations on sites that are EASY to understand where I can quickly learn the software. In addition, if there are any books that you all can recommend, that would be great. Thanks in advance for your help. Steph |

Hi Steph,
I've had Photoshop CS5 for just a few weeks and I'm having fun trying to learn what I'm doing (and there sure is a lot to learn!) I've got the Scott Kelby book on CS5 and I'm finding it quite helpful and straightforward. I'm focusing on learning the basics of the program at this stage. I've also started to go through some of the many tutorials available online (lots of Googling to find the resources) but I haven't had a chance to do much evaluating of them yet (though I can say that some are quite worthless even at first glance!) I'm bookmarking those that look most promising so I can return to them once I have a good sense of the basics of the program. If I find any I particularly like, I'll post them here. Good luck -- and definitely add to this thread if you find something you like! |

Included with your CS5 purchase, there are some free extras that you can choose one from. One of the choices is a month subscription to lynda.com which is absolutely greatbfor vedio tutorials. Do take advantage of the Adobe offer.
Software training online-tutorials for Adobe, Microsoft, Apple & more FYI, you don't import images into Photoshop. You simply open the one(s) you'd like to work on and then save or save-as when done. And make sure to try Bridge as well. .
