Let me borrow your skills

I was hoping somebody could help out one of my photos. I know the composition is terrible, but it's the family favorite. Could you process the photo, or tell me what would be best for it. My photoshop skills are measured in minutes, so if you do work your computer magic could you let me know what you did. Thanks

here is a sample. after cropping, select the baby's face to include a little bit of the towel. press ctrl/J to put the selected area in another layer on top of the original layer. adjust this with levels, moving the middle slider to the left until it brightens up. move the right most slider a bit to the left. this is done so as not to blow out the towel and retain the details of the towel. since the face is a bit soft, use unsharp mask to sharpen a bit, but don;t oversharpen. duplicate this layer and go to gaussian blur and blur this layer. then lessen the opacity to your liking. this will soften and make the skin smooth. click the layer mask icon below the layers pallete and with a small soft brush, set the opacity to 30% and brush with black the eyes and lips to show the sharper eyes and lips of the lower layer. brush away also the excess towel around the face. flatten. to remove the face on the right, just use the clone tool carefully selecting the source points.
