Default Calendars

I'm not sure that I have found the right spot to post, but I hope I have.

Every year I make a calendar for family. I have been using powerpoint, but I'm not overly happy with the quality that I get. I think powerpoint reduces the quality of the photos since even clear photos appear grainy and the photos all seem darker printed through powerpoint. Doing all the boxes (for the days of the year) each year are annoying too, it would be so nice to have a calendar program that just makes it that I can print from home. Since I have a Mac I do have iPhoto, but I can't customize the photo layout - I often have 20 photos that I jigsaw together on a page, so I like to be able to crop and resize photos and have the ability to move them around to make the layout that works.

This year I changed it up and am using excel for the boxes as the formatting in powerpoint for multiple fonts and getting the words for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and daylight savings is a pain! It was easier in excel. Now that I have the template done each year I will still have to move the info in the boxes around, but at least the boxes are done! To make life easier for making sure I have all the yearly special events I have made up an excel sheet which also automatically calculates the ages - I just change the info in one box to the year of the calendar and it sets all the bdays right. I also have all the holidays listed so that I can confirm that I haven't missed anything.

All that said and done, I just think that somewhere out there there must be a calendar program where I can bring in photos, do basic edits (crop, resize, red eye and lighten/darken), place them where I want. Then for the boxes it would automatically put the number in the right spot for the year and I could fill out a data form once of holidays/birthdays/anniversaries/etc that I want and it would figure out the age as well. I'm I asking too much? this does seem somewhat basic and obvious. Does anyone know if such a program exists?

Not sure if this is what you want, but there it looks like you can get a template here - 2010 calendar templates - Digital SLR Photography
