Default Night Xmas Parade shot PP help

Since I don't have the ideal lens to shoot these types of shots I have to rely on some post processing I guess ... I somehow managed to capture this shot and was wondering if I could get some tips on what I can do fix it up. All I've done is bumped up the exposure. Mainly I'd like to be able to get some more definition in her legs (maybe fill light?) and the image is really grainy (ISO1600) but I don't how, or if it's even possible, to sharpen it up. I tried the basic 'sharpen' sliders and nothing seemed to work. Maybe noise? I'm a 3 week old DSLR/PP baby, so any tips would be appreciated

the lower part of the photo is too dark and the pants of the girl is black so there is no more definition/separation of the legs against the background.
select the girl and the legs by approximating where her legs should be by the position of her shoe on her left leg. the right leg must be bent that is why there is no shoe. put this in another layer and adjust a bit with levels. go to the original photo and lighten it just a bit with levels or by shadow/highlights. this will separate girl o the layr on top and with layer mask brush away the excess image around her and approximate the shape of her pants. this is really very hard to do, almost impossible to save.
