Default Gimp help

Does anyone know how to remove or reduce eye glass glare in GIMP? I was looking on youtube for some video tutorials on it and cannot find any.

I think the OP means light reflecting off spectacles rather than red eye, teaking.

Yes light reflecting. Not red eye.

It would depend on the photo, if there is just glare then there won't be much you can do.

If there is some detail behind the glasses then you could possibly do it by:
  1. Copying the layer.
  2. Make a layer mask so that only the glasses are showing in the top layer
  3. Adjust the contrast and brightness of the top layer to reduce the glare.
Show us the photo and I will give it a go.

Could you post the photo (or one of them) here? People might be able to show as well as tell.

You are completely right one of those moments where you read something and it looks completely different than what it is haha

As its a difference in light and contrast you could try to dodge and burn the area, but as it looks pure white you may not get great results, you could also try to heal or clone the area next to the glare, or like tuxcomputers said use a brightness adjustment.

Im sure someone will point out the best method.... what ever you do dont choose mine or they will end up with red eyes!! haha
