Default Problems background colour on website

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a photography website and I have made Ephemeral Project: Travel photography & inspirational lifestyle choice if you can see the picture on the bottom it's off white colour for the background. The image was in black at the start and I had to invert it to get it to match the site..

Can anyone advise on how to get pure white background? I'm stumped..

You can try a selection tool on the dandelion and bits (using the magic wand with a very tight tolerance. Better yet, though, try the dodge tool set to 25% strength and HIGHLIGHTS only.

I only noticed because you mentioned it, but it is worth getting right.

I use GIMP so I might be a bit confusing to you. I would just pick a harsh brush like a pencil and paint over the little bit of grey on the bottom. The other way would be to use a mask and bucket fill the mask with pure white (FFFFFF), set it to opaque 100%.

I was going to steal your pic and see if I could do it real quick for you but you put the image reference in the CSS code of your theme and I am just to lazy tonight to dig through the CSS to find the image location. Good way to stop people from right click stealing but a pain when I am just trying to help.

I love the fade out effect on the home page. What did you use to implement that, was it a plugin, part of the theme or custom code. Can't wait to see the site after you finish converting it from a blog into a CMS. Isn't wordpress great.

hey guys..

Thanks for your help. I got it working last night after many headaches..

I used the colour picker tools, clicked on the background and changed the colour values to 255 then I used the painted brush and at 0 tolerance I simply clicked the image and it went #fff.

site looks much better

Yeah the fade effect goes with the overall message of the site i,e things are ephemeral and it was made on jquery .fadeOut() – jQuery API
