You don't need to know about Macs if you know that Windows will do what you claim to be unique to Mac.

She may be right, she may be wrong, but as long as Photologyst hasn't answered the question why a Windows machine is ultimately as expensive as a Mac, asked twice in two threads after she proclaimed it, Photologyst is just another pontificating Windows bashing Mac groupie to me.

LOL

The question has been answered numerous times.

Sorry, I don't do "groupie."

When I am spending my hard earned money, I want a machine with an OS that works—all the time. I have issues with seeing the blue screen of death and having to constantly buy more stuff that didn't happen to come with the basic machine.

I have owned and worked on both PCs and Macs over decades. Have you? Perhaps not, since Europeans tend to not use what they don't know about.

Sorry, but what an arrogant, ignorant remark, Photologyst. You're assuming a lot about me, all wrong, and you're judging "Europeans" all in one short sentence.

So I still advise everyone not to take your advice too seriously. You may be right, you may be wrong, but remarks like that tell me you're just another Apple groupie.

You advise everyone based on what, your personal knowledge of Macs or your ignorance?

What I know about Europeans is considerable, first hand and personal. In general they diss Macs because they have never used them. You are assuming a lot about me, all wrong and you are judging “Americans” all in one short sentence.

Would you care to venture a guess as to why Macs dominate the creative industry?

Again I ask, have you ever owned a Mac or are you just blowing hot air?

I must defend Vagebond I really dont think hes bashing Macs at all, the same as I wasnt bashing them earlier.

We have nothing against Macs, now I have used them Hardware wise there specs are similar to windows machines available. Maybe in the past there was a difference but these days its not. My experience with the Mac O/S is horrible I cant do simple things I can do in seconds in windows... but thats my problem because im windows orientated. And that is not the fault of the Mac O/S people who find either windows or Macs the most intuitive should use that version that works for them.

As to why Macs are used by professionals I dont know I wouldnt think it was hardware, it cant be software as there all equally matched and run the same programs eg photoshop. So again I am assuming but I would think its that they are familiar with the Mac O/S, or its style which plays a bit part these days like it or not.. or following a trend.

I am not dissing Macs just trying to make the point these days its about O/S choice.

The issue was about Europeans, who as a group have very little experience with Macs. How can one make comments on things with which one has no experience?

It is both hardware and software, teaking. Macs are much more reliable and beautifully designed.

It is often about design! Those of us who are designers do not want an ugly, klutzy computer with a non-ergonomic keyboard and a crappy screen. The other thing is the mac OS, which is superb and intuitive. Windows has copied a great deal of the Mac OS over the years and can be reliable, depending on which version. The design programs all run native on the Mac OS which is open source friendly. Yes, programs work the same, with slight key differences. However, a machine is only as good as its OS and its hardware. So, if you get a top of the line PC with all the bells and whistles that come standard on the Mac and a stable Windows OS, then you are in business.

While I can repair my own computers, I don’t like doing it. I’d rather be working. Virtually everyone whom I know who has a Windows machine also has to employ a computer “guru.” The Mac is simply plug and play.

Therefore, for my money I purchase dependable, intuitive Macs.
