Photo not showing in folders,...???

So, I was playing around with Gimp, learning how to combine two photos into one. I flattened, and saved. Now, when I bring up Picasa or the regular Pictures folder in Windows, it doesnt show the edited photo. It shows a document with Wilber ( the Gimp mascot) on it, then when I click on it, it brings up Gimp and shows it that. If I try to upload it somewhere like Flickr, it doesnt even recognize that its there. I cant figure out how to get it to show up unless maybe I saved it wrong? Usually when I edit something in Gimp it auto updates the file in Picasa. Can anyone help? Or do I need to re-do it, and save it properly?

The file extention is not correct. Open Gimp and open the picture. Click "Save as" and re-save the file with .jpg as the extention. This should fix it.

Also, it has probably defaulted to GIMP being your primary picture manager. You will need to change the "open with" properties as well.
