I am currently using photoshop elements 8, but I have been looking at lightroom (I have not yet downloaded the trial version). Before I download the trial version did I wanted to know what others who may have used both programs thought. Is lightroom worth the expense. I am still an amatuer, but see this as a hobby lasting well into my retirement. Please let me know what pros/cons you found with both.

Lightroom is both a photo sorting program and a PS processing program, while Elements is a lower version of Photoshop.
I would recommend LR anytime. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t use it. Much lower learning curve than PS. I can sort, cull and process 100 in about 1 hr. If you keep your computer clean and optimized, you will not see any slowdown in LR. Download the trial and see what you think. |

Thank you for the information. May I ask what version of Lightroom you are using?

Currently I am using LR 2. However, I am about to upgrade to LR 3 along with Photoshop CS5. Tried it out and liked it. Here’s what is new: Lightroom Queen Blog Blog Archive What’s New in Lightroom 3.0 Final Release? |
