Family niece has asked me to take her engagement pictures, so i'm trying to plan for that right now.
What I would like some recommendations on are PPing techniques or tips for really making their pictures pop and look great, also any effects that might look good. The pictures will be of just the couple probably at the beach and parks. I'm using Lightroom 3 and CS5. Thanks in advance. R.

Congratulations!
There are lots of pros here who do weddings, portraits and such. They will have plenty of info for you. There are tons of things you can do. Here are some of my suggestions. First and foremost is to correct and saturate the pix in Lightroom. Then, pull into PS and blur backgrounds to make the people pop. Always soften faces and sharpen the eyes. You may want to investigate a portrait program to make that chore much easier. You could make some B & W with a color element such as the flowers. Brides and potentials often love dreamy looks. So, go accordingly. I hope that the weather will be good, because windblown hair and clothing is not always flattering. If they have a party, be sure to take photos of the flowers, food, beverages and any other elements of the venue such as restaurant sign and those napkins with the names on them. Take pix of the ring of course. Wait for sunset and get that sundown between the lovers. The happy couple walking in the water or under the trees holding hands. A kiss at sunset. Silhouette of the couple. Writing their names or “we are engaged” into the sand or carved into a tree. Couple jumping into the air or the water. Catch them jumping. Frame the couple with a tree or flowers if in the park. On the beach with grasses or a lighthouse. Photo by a park fountain or other element. I always like colour and B & W pix offered. Sometimes the duotones are preferred. You get the idea. All those photos can be super enhanced via PS and other programs. That of course depends on the photo. Here are some superb shots: http://clarkwalkerblog.com/2010/04/c...ark-boathouse/ http://www.markjanzenphotography.com...d-avila-beach/ Google and you will get tons more ideas. Just make sure that you take tons of pixs so that you have plenty to choose from, process and ultimately present the best to them. |
