Default Stretch Marks...in over my head!

So I assured my client that I would be able to edit out her stretch marks before I actually saw them...I figured she was just being vain and they couldn't be that bad since she isn't due until October...I was a little surprised when she lifted her shirt!
I'm okay with the clone tool and I'm sure there is another way to fix this...any ideas?? Which tools should I be using?

Have you tried the clone tool set to a low opacity in another blending mode like lighten... or maybe the patch tool to edit the effecred area and then cloning or healing over the area to bring texture back although in practice not the ideal solution.

Other than that a digital skin graft on a seperate layer and blend it in with a layer mask.

Would be great to hear how its approached.

teaking is right. use the clone tool with opacity set to 10% but do this in another layer and vary your source point and be sure to check the 'sample all layers' box so you don't destroy the original layer.

you have to be careful of how much you clone. you've just erased the shadow under the belly so it doesn't look right. well it doesn't look like the belly is sticking out because there is no shadow so it makes her look wide or heavy.

This would be a great time to master the patch tool. It is not as well known as the clone tool but it is exactly what you need for this job. It should only take a minute or two to master and you will get results that are more convincing than what you posted above. This link should get you started.

Do not use the clone tool, use the patch tool, the squiggly looking square.

Now add some blur to her belly to smooth everything out. Its a little too sharp.

Yep, I did a little more smoothing after that...that was just after using the patch tool.
