Angry Going crazy trying to vignette in gimp

I have been searching the web (dps, google, youtube, etc) trying to find out how to add a SUBTLE vignette to my pics. I have GIMP 2.6.8 but all the tutorials and posts I have found must be for a different version because my toolbar and menus aren't the same. For example, my "layers" menu is completely different. I am trying to add some vignetting to a few shots of my cousin's outdoor wedding and I am going bonkers because I just can't seem to accomplish what I want.

~Help me DPS, you're my only hope! ~

There is a wiki that contains many tutorials for GIMP, including how to add a vignette.

Here is the wiki and here is the vignette tutorial.

Let me know if you find any errors or problems with the tut.
