I've been using solely Aperture 2, now 3 since I've had my DSLR (about a year and a half ago.) I'm not great at PP and don't have the time or general know how to open PS for editing. I prefer as a hobbyist to have a all in one solution. I do have a question of my own however, Most tutorials on DPS are for PS or LR. Is there a good reason to jump ship and get LR3? I'm using the 30 day trial but am finding it hard to get used to. I figured I'd ask since there are alot of great photographers in these forums.

No, if you are comfortable with Aperture, then stay with it. I google lots for tutorials for any of the products that I use. You might have to do that and when you find anything that you feel will benefit others, post a link to it. I'm certain there are others that would appreciate it.

I just use PhotoShop CS4 because I don't have a need for LR yet.

I use Photo Elements 8, & PhotoImpact. I have CS3 but don't have it installed anymore. I want to get LR next.

are you a raw Nikon shooter? If yes, View NX (or Photomechanic) to view, sort and minor adjustments, then Capture NX2 for the real serious editing.
If you shoot raw with other brands then the above isnt an option.
If you shoot Jpg then the above is also a good option.
Who needs CS5 or LR? They're expensive and an overkill for my kind of PP.

cheers
Peter
