Default ligthroom RAW and JPG

I've taken some images in RAW and JPG and imported them into my lightroom catalog.
When I open the images in the Library mode the information for each file shows both formats under one file.
When I edit the image I assume I'm editing the RAW image how can I delete the non edited format, at this point I don't need both.

Thanks
R.

Not sure what you mean by it shows both formats under one file. If you imported both you should have two images next to one another, unless you stacked them.

They are probably "stacked". You can right click and select Stacking/ and one of the options listed (split stack, expand, etc.). Otherwise, the name of the "top" file is shown and that is the one that will be edited by default.

They are not stacked in the traditional way. What I mean is when I show the file information (i.e. file name etc..) on the image it shows both file extensions, for example IMG_1340.dng+JPG. I don't see both images in the film strip or the grid display.

Also, where are the changes done to the image stored??

I'm using a mac, and when I go into the folder with the images and I open the edited image it doesn't show the edited version, only the original with no changes.

as far as I know LR will not change anything on your image until exported

Changes made in Lightroom are non-destructive. The original file is never modified. You have to Export the edited version if you want a physical copy of it.
