Default Lightroom versions

Hey Everyone,

I am relatively new to photography compared to most people at this forum and have been off and on posting pictures here. I use lightroom for most if not all of my post processing work (however little I know of it). I used to download the beta versions of it that were free downloads on the internet. Unfortunately, the lightroom 3 beta 2 version just expired and I am looking for some other such similar softwares available. I am sorry if this has been brought up earlier in the forum and being a student, I cant afford to buy a license for it. I would be very grateful if anyone could provide me with a link where I could download any such software from.

Thanks!

Avi

Hi, yeah
I was also using that trial version, but there is another one since they realese LR3. That's the one im using for another 30 days.

Nout sure what the rules are on posting link just yet, but here it is.

https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/i...room&loc=en_us

Or you can always go with picnik.com Not very advance just basic editting.

Hope that helps.

Links to legit sites are perfectly fine. Just a fair warning (not that it's happened in this thread yet), but any links to/suggestions of illegal file sharing sites or sites that help you get around buying software will be deleted.

My suggestion would be Picasa (for somewhat similar cataloging abilities, though not necessarily as good with editing). I don't know of any open source alternatives or other freeware alternatives.

Since you're a student you may also have another option. I know that in the U.S. they also market student/educational versions (they're full versions) for about a third of the full retail price. You may actually be able to afford it after all.

Thanks ZannieGirl49. Unfortunately I am not in the US so I am not sure whether that would be applicable for me. But thanks anyway!

Thanks for your suggestions Nicole. I wasnt exactly looking for illegal file sharing sites or any such thing. I wasnt aware if lightroom had come up with any further beta versions after that one and/or whether there were any other such beta versions of softwares available. In either case, thanks for the warning and I will certainly keep that in mind. I will also surely try out picasa like you have mentioned.

Thanks for the link jaeros. I downloaded the trial version of lightroom for now. Hoping to find some alternative within the next 30 days

No worries Sometimes in threads like that such suggestions come up. Good luck finding an alternative/demo/spare cash for the student version!
