Hi
I'm a fan of '60's-70's indian film posters and want to Photoshop a canvas together showing around 30 of these side by side. I don't intend to alter the images, but just touch them up to cover up creases, etc from the sources I have. Will I have any issues with a professional printing company printing off the final montage because of copyright questions? All of the images are from ages ago, and finding someone to give me consent to reprint would be nigh on impossible. Thanks Arjay.. |

Are you selling it, or printing for personal use?
Legally, either way you'd have to look up copyright laws in your country. In Canada, copyright is retained for 70 years after death (if prior to 1970) and 90 years after death (if after 1970). The US is similar, but you'll have to see in your country. You'd also have to try to find WHO owns the copyright. If it's for films, you'll likely be talking to movie houses or studios, not individuals. Strictly speaking, if it's for your own good and all you're doing is putting them together onto one large canvas and printing it for you own home, you wont have a problem.
