Question Odd Lightroom Annoyance: Insists on expanding certain folders

I've been running into the oddest Lightroom annoyance lately, and I have no idea how to fix it.

No matter what I do, Lightroom insists on expanding my folder tree as such. If I collapse the tree, the minute I move a photo into another folder, the entire tree expands again to that exact layout. If I collapse everything and quit Lightroom, the second I launch it again, the folder tree opens to that exact expanded layout again. No matter what I do, I can't seem to shut the folder tree and get it to stay shut. After a while it starts to get annoying.

Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before? I've tried searching both the forums and the web as a whole, but the search terms (lightroom, folders, expand, etc..) are vague enough that I can't seem to find anything.

I have the same problem and I would LOVE to know how to fix it. In the interest of comparing notes to find a common thread, I use LR3 and have about 38,000 photos. The only "weird" thing that I've done which might have caused something like this is that I imported a catalog from my laptop recently (I don't recall if this was happening before the import of not...). I was using LR3 on the laptop to edit photos while traveling and when I returned home to my desktop I exported the laptop photos as a catalog and then imported that catalog.

Anyone else seen this?

I was able to find a solution at Odd Lightroom Annoyance: Insists on expanding certain folders - Canon Digital Photography Forums

Basically my catalog was wonky so I exported all my photos to a new catalog and then imported it and everything was fine after that.
