Default Saving for web

When saving my files to host on web (flikr) I find them extremely lifeless. Meaning the colors dont pop the skin looks blotchy etc(unlike it did before I saved from PS). It makes me wonder if I am saving them right.
My question is for saving on web:
How do you resize? Size? DPI? JPG? Quality?

Thanks! Im sure others have this same question so I know this will be helpful is answered =)

what are program are you using to save these images ?
Sounds to me like the programs default settings are reducing the pixels when saved for the web.

What colorspace are you working in? Some browsers aren't colorspace aware, so if you're saving them as anything other than sRGB, then they could look bad in some browsers.

I've been battling this same issue. I use lightroom and my photos look great. After exporting, if I view them in anything other than adobe programs or windows photo viewer, they look like crap - darker, reddish, blotchy skin, etc. At first I thought it was just picasa, but its the same when uploaded to facebook or blogger. I export to jpegs in sRGB. Can anyone help?

When you save them, are you using the Save To Web function in PS?

What resolution are the originals?
What resolution are you saving them to?
Are you adjusting the quality and setting a specific filesize?

After editing, merge down the file and click image size (i use 700 on the longest side). Click ok and you will see the image get really small. Click on view 100% and the image will be the size you would view on the web. Then you will have to resharpen the image before uploading to photobucket or whatever you use. To resharpen, i dup. the layer and set layer to luminosity . Then sharpen at 0.3 radius and amount 100 and then adjust the opacity to around 40 to 60 % depending on the image.
