Hi this may sound like a pretty bland question but I have seen it pop up a few times before with no feedback.
I am having trouble capturing both eyes in focus. As you can see in the picture I attached which is SOOC, her right eye is in focus but left is not. I added the focal points but they arent in the correct spot as they were when I snapped the photo.(they are just for reference) I know you can switch from focal point to focal point and even choose all of them. My question is that if you select one focal point obviously you can only focus on one eye (i think thats what I did on this picture, being her right eye, How would you select focal points where both eyes are in focus. I usually use focal point 1 as my dailly/general point in all my photos. When I switch to turn all of them on I get the problem of only some of them becoming active and the ones that do are usually the ones that I dont want to focus on. Say I wanted to take a picture close up like this one. How would I set the focal points to focus on both eyes?? Do I select focal point 1 and change the aperature? Do I select all the points?? Sorry if this is a dumb question or sounds confusing I tried to put it in lamest terms. Thanks a lot |

select single focus point and place it directly onto the eye of your subject. Set your aperture so that you use a large enough depth of field to have both in focus. Use a depth of field calculator to determine which aperture that would be (its based off subject distance, focal length, sensor size)
