Default WHO do you use? Printing company suggestions

I would like to order prints that look as if they came from a studio. Also a problem I have run into in the past is receiving my prints, and they were cropped down. Which meant it cut heads off, limbs missing, etc... I want to be able to tell it to print the print I send, and not change it.

what printing companies would you recommend? Thanks

First, if your prints are cropped, then you've been asking your service to print them at the wrong aspect ratio. If your camera takes 2:3 ratio shots and you ask for an 8x10 print (which is in the 4:5, not 2:3 ratio), you'll have cropping just by the nature of the beast. That's probably your main problem! Photos taken at 2:3 (which most modern digital cameras do by default) can print without cropping at 4x6, 6x9, 8x12, etc.

Regardless, I use both adoramapix and mpix. They both allow you to choose your cropping, if you ask them for a print in an improper aspect ratio. Adoramapix also gives you the option of printing the image with white borders if it's in the wrong ratio.

Thank you, The pictures I ordered before were through walmart. They were just simple snapshots, and shot with a small $80 dollar digital camera. When I asked walmart about them being cropped, they said the system automatically does it to every photo. I will do a test run through mpix and see how I like it.
