i tried the free Aperture trial and wasn't 100% on-board. after ready some reviews and forums I went to Photoshop.
Here's my first workflow attempt on an older photo I had hanging around... Any cc is appreciated...

Hello, Before giving a response, could you say a little more about how you used photoshop on this picture? I'm a seasoned fan of Photoshop. It's a world unto itself.

I used some of the "auto" features to edit. Auto-tone, Auto-contrast and Auto-color under the Image option. I realize it's a small fraction of the power, but it's a start...

I'm not sure which version of you have but here's a feature I use a lot. Go to Image, adjustments and scroll to Shadow/Highlights. There are several sliders to get the adjustment you like. I get some interesting results with this feature. Now to your photo. Snow is really hard get right especially when you have dark elements as well. Which one do you favor is the key question? Given the challenges, you did well. There's a nice balance between dark and light. The angle with those strong lines of the rails leading to the horizon is terrific. And now, off you go. Go have more fun with Photoshop and show us what you got.
