Default Printing Photos Over Exposed???

Ok,

I went to my local store to print out 1 8x10 print of a picture I took. On every computer I looked at the picture on the exposure was perfect. But when i went to print it out, it came out over exposed. Whats up with that? Is it from the printer, paper, or ink? It really sucks cause I spent $5 bucks to print it.

Thanks,
Joshua

Get your money back if you're not happy with it.

Where did you get it printed at? Was a professional lab or someplace like walmart? Ive heard that the non-pro places dont calibrate their printers very often so it could be their fault. I would get my money back and try somewhere like Mpix or a local pro lab.

Most proper labs should have their printers calibrated, but even that wont save you if YOUR monitor is not calibrated to THEIR printer. Find somewhere that's reliable and ask what printer profile they use and if you can find it.

I recently went to Walgreens to get some personal pictures developed and was disappointed because the ones from my Canon looked crappy as well as my point and shoot. I've had good quality from them in the past as recently as Dec, so my case was either human or calibration error and I would suggest the same for you.

Ya, i didnt go to no professional place. I went to Walkmart and used the instant print machine. Next time definently going to a pro lab. But it sucks cause the only one around just went out of buiseness or moved.

The instant machines are TERRIBLE. I know: I used to have one where I worked.

Go to your nearest Costco...8x10 <$2.00, and their print quality is quite good. We like their Lustre paper as opposed to glossy.
