The rest of the new stuff will be mighty interesting to test also.

....I have mixed feeling about the new features (excluding the brush and hdr photo ..that's just great) since I might be even more unemployed in the future with every kid with photoshop thinking they got skills when they're using these features and competing for work and whatnot. >.<

But on the technical side they're awesome timesavers. Although the content aware stuff probably won't work well on certain images. And most definitely won't replace good photos and thus need for great photographers. ^_^

Newegg has a preorder upgrade for $189. Not much of a savings, but every bit helps!

I have CS3 and skipped the previous upgrade, but CS5 looks good. They always say you should skip every other one anyway, so I'm glad I waited.

You don't have to worry. Talent can never be replaced by technology

To some degree it can be. But yea... those peeps/clients who go with the "nephew approach" usually wouldn't pay enough anyways.

As usual, the antipodeans are being rorted by Adobe (along with Apple, et al). Cheapest upgrade to PS CS5 is AUD$337. Given the current exchange rate AUD$1 = USD$0.93, our pricing is outrageous.

That said, there's no doubt that I'll also be making the jump from CS3 to CS5 in the next couple of months.

Question is, do I upgrade the whole suite or just PS?

I'm going to an Adobe show'n'tell on the 3 May to find out, at which I'm also going to be eating and drinking at least $100 in tea and biscuits to make up for our pricing

you can download the upgrade as of now if you don't care about the physical package.
