Default Photoshop training

I like to learn more about photoshop and how to edit pictures. Is there a site where they have videos and tutorial to teach or show me how to perfect my skills?

My current favourite Photoshop resource is The Adobe Photoshop CS4 Book for Digital Photographers. It's by Scott Kelby, and he has an edition for CS2 and CS3 as well. It starts from the very basics, and goes into everything you need to know for standard edits. I love having a solid book to flick through when I'm away from the computer, and this is a very solid book.

As far as tutorials go, Google is your friend. Try a couple searches when you're attempting an effect and you'll find a lot of tutorials, some awful, some fantastic. You'll soon find a few sites that help you at the level you're at.

I follow quite a few blogs, and pick up a lot of interesting tips and ideas along the way. But while this is good, I find it isn't really the most efficient way to learn everything I want to know, because I'm getting information as someone else decides to post it, rather than doing the research myself, if that makes any sense.

Saying that, I've recently begun a blog that has a lot of Photoshop tutorials on it, that will hopefully be useful. They're starting fairly basic and will work their way up to more advanced. If you're interested in taking a look to see if it's for you, you can find me here: Vrinda Webb Photography There's a Photoshop Tutorial tab at the top with the (so far fairly small) list of tutorials I've written.

For video tutorials check out Photoshop User TV It's also by Scott Kelby. And for something very funny but still informative go to youtube and do a search for "you suck at photoshop". This guys videos crack me up.

Ah yes. I've never used Lynda.com myself, but my friend raves about its greatness. I think I might check it out myself actually.

I checked out the site, looks very informative. I was hoping that I find a great tutorial that does not charge.

I think 25 bucks a month is a fair price for video tutorial on all the programs lynda.com have listed. Thanks for the info codewarrior
