Default Lightroom 3 is running slow. Please HELP.

Hey, I need some help on this one. When im running Lightroom 3 beta version on my laptop, after a while it starts to freeze and works very slowly when i do touchups and stuff like that... My laptop is still new a little over a year and it comes with this proceesor: Intel Pentium Dual Core T2370 (1.73GHz 533Mhz, 1M L2 Cache). the hard drive has more then enough free space for this. What can it be? is my processor too slow for this??? thanks in advance for any help. By the way I'm new here and this forum is awesome

LR likes lots of memory. While in LR open up your resource monitor and check your memory usage and processor utilization...and if your running a virus protection like mcafee, performance is even worse.
BTW, a new video card won't really help...it's ram memory not your video card.

btw, WELCOME to DPS!

i see... i do have mcafee running, i didnt think that it would effect it. maybe thats the problem. Is there a way to turn it off just for the Lightroom so it will not enterfere?? i will check its performance once i get home tonight. thanks.

Since LR 3 is still in beta, you should be aware that the program is likely to have bugs in it, and it's entirely possible you found one. You should report the issue to Adobe, so they can get the information they need to make sure this isn't a problem in the final release.

Beta 2 has just been released which is supposed to have some performance upgrades to it.
