Hi,
I think if you want to do some serious photo editing, you would be using serious software, the Microsoft suite is not the best option for this task. I would recommend Adobe Photoshop, because is the software I use and I know best, but there are some other options like Lightroom or Corel Paint Shop. Now, I toke the liberty to do a little editing using Photoshop and balancing the brightness/contrast and playing with the shadows/highlights on your photo and here is the result, hope you like it.

Thank you very much! I am in the process of looking into some good photo editing software, I have only been doing all of this for about 2 months so its been one thing at a time. LOL I actually just got a tripod and remote last week, and my next step is another lens. Then after that will come software! I have heard good things about photoshop, I have a mac so I would like to find something compatible. Not sure if that one is or not. Right now I am swapping back and forth between the mac side and the Microsoft side of my comp just to edit photos!
Now how can I get that pic on my comp to look at in my editing software? (Sorry for the dumb question. LOL) |

In order to save that photo in your computer, if you are in the windows pc: just click on the thumbnail to open the photo, then click again on the photo, that should open the image directly on the browser, then just right click and select "save image as", and you got it!.
I think if you are just starting on the photo edition, I can suggest to download and install Gimp, which is a opensource photo edition software that has the main tools you can found on Photoshop or other photo editing software. This software is a good start to step up into the serious photo edition. Here is the link to download Gimp: GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program It is designed to work with Mac, but there is a Windows based release as well. ![]() By the way: Adobe Photoshop is compatible with MAC OS. yes, you should consider investing in photoshop and learning it if you want some serious postprocessing.
anyway here is what i did. i leveled the image by rotating it and since there were vacant spots in the four corners due to the rotation, i added extended the image to the vacant areas. |

That's a very cute photo , I can see why she picked it
![]() If you're going down the Photoshop road, you might want to consider Photoshop Elements, rather than the full blown version; I have Lightroom 2 and Elements 7, and don't really need anything more (I'm tempted to upgrade to full blown photoshop anyway :P) |
