Default Photo editing help, please...

I took this shot of my boys today...more of a snapshot than an elaborately composed photo, but I really like it. Except, see that white blur on the face of the littler one? I'm fairly sure it's a blurred snowflake. I tried to remove it in photoshop using my limited editing skills, but ended up with a blotch on his face that looked worse than the original blur.

Can anyone tell me a way to remove it? You're welcome to play with it if you like, as long as you'll give me the steps you used to fix it Thanks in advance for any advice.

Do you think we could have access to the larger image file, that way we can do some better editing for you - then explain the steps.

Two seconds, quickly done with the clone tool. Select area you want to clone, then clone away.

Unfortunatly the size of the image meant a poor result, a larger image, more pixels to clone, and a better picture will be created.

Cool, that's it? I was erasing and blurring and all kinds of obviously unnecessary stuff! I'll try it, and if I'm unsuccessful I'll let you know and give you the larger size...

Thank you so much...

alissasanderson,

Hope you have success with this; finding what to clone is the part that challenges. I wanted to add, after cloning as close to natural as possible, if you select the area just cloned and add a little Gaussian Noise, it will blend the clone into rest of face better. A pinch of blur and blending edges helps also. Sweet photo.

Larger pic on Flickr.

Ahh, more tips. Thanks! I fooled with it for about half an hour last night, and while I did manage to remove the spot it still didn't look quite right. I'll try the blur--I bet it'll do the trick.
