Default Fisheye-Hemi and D90

I'm really close to buying the Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 and read about Fisheye-Hemi on kenrockwell.com. Looks like a great program and I'm really excited to use it, but here in the lens/camera combination table it doesn't specifically list the D90. Any idea if this will work?

Maybe more importantly, is there another plugin or application you use to do this? Preferably Windows, but I could do Mac also. Free is good too of course.

Thanks!

Camera doesn't matter in this case.

I assume the sensor style/size is what matters then? DX?

That's it. Thats really also just for detemining lens choice, not necessarily the processing involved.

$30? Why not just use Hugin? Any of the PanoramaTools front ends can use the suite to change fisheye to rectilinear projection. And Hugin's free. And it panostitches. And does enfuse/HDR. And perspective correction. And...

Because I hadn't heard of it. Perfect! That's what I'm looking for. Thanks ink!

Ok, so I obviously don't get it. As far as I can tell this Hugin is for stitching photos together. All I want is to make a fisheye photo more "normal". I can't find any tutorials on this for Hugin. Can you help?

Load the image into Hugin.

Set the lens type and focal length, and the crop factor of your sensor, if it wasn't read in by the EXIF.

Go to the preview window (it's a button in the toolbar). Pick your remapping projection: "Rectilinear" or "Stereographic" are probably your best bets. Play with the settings.

When the preview looks like what you want, go to the stitcher tab. Select "remapped images" at your output, and hit the "stitch now" button.

That should do it.

addendum:
Crap. You don't have the control you want with Hugin. I'm too used to using PTMac's now-defunct tools, and I keep assuming Hugin does the same stuff.

Looks like the plugin you found might still be a better bet. Although I should mention PTLens, as it's $25, and does mustache distortion. So many PanoramaTools front ends...

Thanks for the update.

Found DxO Optics Pro and I'm using the trial. Very nice, by the way, because there's no limited functionality. It just lasts for 31 days. It's $189US but does TONS more than just correcting a fisheye. I just rented a fisheye, haven't bought yet, but if I do I'll probably buy the DxO. If you've never tried it I seriously recommend that you try it. It does a lot of "automatic" stuff simply based on EXIF data - focal length, aperture, camera body, etc. They have apparently tested everything in labs for each camera/lens combo and formulated the "automatic" stuff accordingly. The exposure compensation, distortion, vignette, etc is incredible.

Also, here's what I came up with. Fisheyes are SO much fun!
