Forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place - please redirect me if needed. I'm very new to digital photography and am learning as I go. I've been posting my favorites on my FB page for friends to see and an aquaintance who's much more experienced in photography than I am is very interested in a print of one of my photos (I'm so flattered I hardly know how to respond). My question is this: Is there a standard size to print when such requests are made and where would you suggest I (as an amateur) could get this printed and mailed off to her? Lastly, the photo looks good on the computer but would it be beneficial for me to get a wal-mart print made first so that I can be sure it will look good on paper?
Thanks for any advice you can offer

First, ask them what size print they want. Additionally, print one preferably from the same source that you would have a print for them made (doesn't have to be the same size as what they would want if they want a really big one but at least an 8x10) so you can get an idea of how it will look. mpix.com does excellent work.
I saw a photo of one my flickr friends that I just had to get a print of and asked her if she would sell me one. The first thing she asked me was what size?
