Red face RAW Help, please.

Hi,

I have two questions about RAW.

1. Is there a way to convert RAW to JPEG in one step without having to go through each one by one?

2. I use Photoshop CS2 and it will not open my RAW files. I shoot with a Canon Rebel XS. I downloaded the plugins from Adobe, but I still get the same message stating that it is an incorrect file type. Is there any way around this?

[EDIT] I also tried using the CS3 with the plugin that specifically states it supports the XS, but I got the same error.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,
You may have already done this, but try going to the Canon website and installing either Zoombrowser or DPP. They allow you copy the settings from one RAW file and paste them into all the other photos (although you'd only want to do this for similar images). You should then be able to batch process them.
Both packages should be free, and you should have got them with your camera.

Not quite sure what you're asking here. Do you want to convert 1 RAW file to JPEG in one step? Or do you want to convert a lot of RAW files into JPEGs all at once?

Are you sure you're putting the ACR update into the right folder?

One way to work around this is by converting your RAW files to DNG files with the Adobe DNG converter. CS2 can work with DNG files.
