I was just thinking the same thing Japaslavian. If you want to be technical Every photograph is processed one way or another whether film or digital in camera or out on a mac or in a darkroom.

By its very nature film photography was open to post processing - people would work the images just the same either dodge/burn, touch up, softening and so on.

Probably the best known landscape photographer, Ansel Adams, did it so if its good enough for him, its good enough for me!

I do try to stay as real as possible with my editing - if my original photo sucked that badly, Im not gonna spend hours trying to recover it!

I don't really know if there is such thing as 'too much' post-processing. Take a look at Jerry Uelsmann's work.

Some things I wouldn't do post-processing on, but I had the most fun in my photography class at the end of the year when we got to do special effects. It was sort of like telling us that we'd learned how to use the camera to get the shots, and the darkroom to print the shots, and now we could truly unleash our creativity and do what we wanted.

edit: Some of Mr. Uelsmann's work is NSFW - artistic nudes.
