Opening RAW files

I just got my Rebel XS a week ago, and went and shot some photos in RAW. I'm trying to open them in PS3 right now, but a popup comes up and says that PS3 can't read it because it's not the right type of document. I've opened RAW files before, they were CRW i think. The ones from my rebel are CR2. I was looking online for help, and it seems i need to update photoshop, but all the updates I can find are for PS4, which aren't much help...How can I open my files?

If you have Photoshop CS3 you need ACR 4.6 in order to open the RAW files from your XS.

You can get ACR 4.6 here. Be sure to read the instruction on how to update ACR for your version of Windows.

Another option would be to convert your RAW files to Adobe DNG. You can then open the DNG file in CS3. You can download the latest DNG converter here.
