Default Portrait style name.

My memory's failing me on this and I'm coming here in hopes that one of you knows what I'm talking about. There's a style of post processing named after a famous photographer that pretty much started it. It starts with a photograph that has strong shadows. The shadows and contrast are magnified in PP and certain glossy-type effects are added. The result is a portrait of a person that is very detailed with tons of shadows even in the smallest of wrinkles. It doesn't sound flattering but it's actually a very beautiful style (in my opinion). Anyone know what it's called or the photographer who started it?

I'd post pics as a reference but I can't find a picture since I forgot the name of the style. :/

EDIT: It's similar to Jill Greenberg's style of PP but it uses more shadows.

EDIT2: Forgot to mention that the glossy look combined with the amount of contrast in the shadows almost makes the person's skin look fake like a manikin. Hope that helps.

Nope. I know and love Lomo but the one I'm talking about is mostly done in close up portrait shots. I once saw a video on youtube of a street photographer that used it a lot in his pictures and that's where I learned about the guy that coined the technique. I've been looking all over for it. :/
