Default Converting RAW to JPEG

Yesterday, I tried the duotone technique on one of my snaps in photoshop as per the tutorial given in Digital Photography School. When i tried to save the final image, there was no option available to save it as JPEG. Hence, I saved it as a RAW image. I need to send this to a friend of mine as JPEG since RAW won;t open there. Pls. help regd. converting RAW into JPEG. Thanks

Was your image mode set to RGB and 8 bits/channel?
If it was did you use save as?
