I like the pose although in my opinion,the crop is too tight . There is also little contrast between the subject and the background. Also the subject could have used a bit more light.

Wow! Thank you all for your comments. I'll put it into the competition but I think I have learnt that I am trying to fix a shot in photoshop which should have been shot better in the first place.

Default appreciate where you're going...keep moving forward

I think a pose like this needs more context...there is no story. If portrait subjects are not looking at the cam sometimes you need to tell more of a story. If you want just moody and brooding, shoot him face on. Also get his hairline in. JMHO
