Talking Aging Gracefully

Aging Gracefully

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT
Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperture:f/3.2
Focal Length: 60 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: -1/3 EV
Flash: Flash did not fire

I was doing some commercial work for a company when I had to photography this woman's eyes. But as I shot I noticed that this woman not only had great eyes but a friendly smile to go with it so I snapped this one just for myself. I really felt like she was aging gracefully, unlike most women now a days, and I felt like she had this willingness to teach you anything she could offer.

Anyway what do you guys think of the shot?

I love her eyes and she has a beautiful smile. You captured her energy very well. I see widsom and friendliness in bounds. The focus and DOF are perfect for the shot, but just as a personal taste, I would have liked to see it portrait style with a full chin. It bothers me when the tips of stuff are cut off.

Yeah I see what your saying and thanks. Though I shot it this way so that i got the smile and her eyes. Also it was quick cause I wasn't on my own time.

I love it. The multiple catchlights in the eyes add sparkle to a smile that seems to match. And while the chin/no chin question is a bit of personal taste, I feel that your crop fits this particular photo very well. Being the critique section, I wish I had some useful suggestion, but I really just like this one as-is. Thanks for showing us.
