Crazy cool but so sad too. They are erecting a monument locally as well. They're going to use two steel beams from the Trade Center (guess that's the general idea for all these monuments).

Oh, gees! Thanks for posting. Nice shots, especially the last two. The first two could use a little tweaking.

I’ve been thinking of the anniversary coming up. Very tough.

I was in France shortly after 9/11, in a small village for a great foodie dinner. There, in the tiny square was a small Calder sculpture very similar to the one that was ruined at ground zero.

We came out of the restaurant at 11 p.m. just as the church steeple was ringing the eleventh hour. I got a great night shot of the church clock in the tower with clouds.

Most ominous!

There should be such memorials everywhere possible, like Europe has war memorials, so that people never forget.

Lovely shots. I'm very fond of #3.

We have a local memorial coming to Silverdale, WA soon. The beams arrived a few weeks ago and I had many friends who had the opportunity to ride in the escort. I myself have not yet gone to see the beams... I have this thing about not bawling hysterically in public and I'm fairly certain that would happen....
