Lightbulb Need ideas for a photo shoot checklist

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to build a checklist for specific photo shoot. I truly believe that having this will make our shots more effective and successful. These are "must have" shots for certain shoot out.
I had seen allot of this for wedding photography. Quite an impressive checklist.
But I also need to create one for the following:
1. Children's party
2. Children's Beauty pageant
3. Adult beauty pageant
4. Corporate events - team building
5. Corporate events - cocktail
6. Corporate events - product launch
7. Commercial exhibition
8. Fashion shoot - cat walk
9. Fashion shoot - back stage
10. school events - prom
11. school events - sports fest
12. concert
13. recital
14. beach party

Sorry for this long wish list. But I'm pretty sure that everyone will benefit with this list and will have a happy client.

So help me start compiling this list.

Some of these are very specialized (pageants?) but the general rules would apply. Depending on what youre being hired for, that list will change too.

wow, that's an impressive list!!! lol

Well I'm not sure i can answer so precisely, and it depends on the kind of photographer you are. Do you edit on photoshop afterward? Do you simply shoot? do you do other part, like do you own a studio space? do you provide a stylist with the service? there is about a million ifs...

You see, I'm also a stylist, hair, makeup, and clothing, So i carry too much crap, so bring the important stuff but don't bring to much.

1. Children's party
-you simply need yourself and your camera, no tripod, they'll knock it over (it happened to me) I could tell you to make sure there's good lighting, but again...with kids..don't even go there, they'll knock your lights over. I'f your lucky to have someone to help you, bring a light diffuser/ bounce, it may help you control the sun of bad house lighting. and external flash with a diffuser on it, otherwise, the lighting is harsh and gross.
2. Children's Beauty pageant
3. Adult beauty pageant

these 2 are pretty much the same, they only difference is the type of shoot, during pageant, the girls get photograph ahead of time for there head shot, basic studio photo shoot (often done for free for the pageant, it's a good advertisement for the photographer and after the pageant you can charge 20$ for the picture to parent or girls that want them)
you can also shoot during the pageant, then, i'd say a tripod (low lighting) and different lenses , flash here would be inappropriate.
4. Corporate events - team building
Not sure?
5. Corporate events - cocktail
you'll need a appropriate attired, you should blend in professionally, your camera, a few different lens, Not sure about flash, it may work sometimes but be totally wrong other times.
6. Corporate events - product launch
this one is also hard to say, if you mean on the marketing part of the product launch, well it depends on the product who needs to photographed. they may need lights, or not, they may need a diffuser, or not, don't use a camera flash, that would be gross. I may require the use of photo editing (photoshop of the CS series) It may need lots of things.

If you mean the photographer who will document the launch of a product, then its about the same as any other events where people are doing things, if it's lit well, you need you, your camera, some lenses, still not sure about the flash. if it's darker, please get a tripod.
7. Commercial exhibition
Not sure.
8. Fashion shoot - cat walk
A good camera, great lens, with good zoom, tripod, and i'm not sure, but i don't think they use flashes.
9. Fashion shoot - back stage
this one is the same as the guy walking around with his camera in hand, you need to capture people in action, I wouldn't use a flash, but who knows.
10. school events - prom
if you shoot at the prom, you need a background corner (probably decorated by the students) lights, tripod, camera, and a regular lens.
I you shoot in studio (which is what i did at my prom) people will come to see you a couple months before prom time with there prom dress, a few outfits and there school grad robes. you should have a studio, with different backgrounds, lighting, some props (flower, fake diploma and such) I would also have a popular music playing device to get them in the groove.
11. school events - sports fest
Camera, different lens, external flash with diffuser for when your closer to people, not for action shots, a tripod and polarized filter
12. concert
tripod, camera, lens
13. recital
Camera, lens, tripod
14. beach party
You probably won't get hired often for this??? but if ever, camera, lens, lens cleaner and a polarized filter.

Well hope this help, that's all i could think of without write an entire book worth of crap..lol
