How did it turn out? Post a pic... My husband is oily and he sweats a lot...but he photographs well regardless.

Oh, my God. That was like eight years ago and we never took pictures. No way I wanted those getting out to the general public. Worst part was, we did it at her parent's house both times. So I had to wait until everyone was in bed so I could sneak up to the bathroom and wash it off.

Please, if you're going to troll, do it elsewhere.

(sidenote: I've taken a look through your flickr stream. This must be a case of "Do as I say, not as I do". If you had a makeup artist for those shoots, you need to fire him/her and get a new one. That, preferably, isn't blind.)
Went to your website, but all of the features were not working.

My experience regarding makeup and photography comes only from my 52 project, as I usually put some makeup on if I'm going to do a self-portrait that shows my face. I've learned that you definitely have to use more makeup than you normally would because the flash washes the colours out. See this?

Fiftytwo #11: I don't usually wear makeup.

I had to use tons of eyeshadow to get it to appear in the picture. It doesn't look too intense in there, but in real life, I looked like... well, let's just say it was not pretty My two cents, as they say.

as someone who photographs makeup quite a lot as a hobby I can tell you with complete certainty that you need MORE. Flash will power right through and sheer out a light application of anything, You need to use bases for eyeshadows, foundation that is matte with no SPF, lipliner for lipsticks and the least amount shimmer you can manage, unless you are going for a shimmery look.

my two cents:

i have hired a few makeup artists in my time, one of which was for my own wedding. each and every one of them specifically stated that on camera, as far as make-up is concerned: MORE IS more.
