Default Engagement photos pose ideas - with a caveat

Hey all! It's been awhile since I popped in here...

So, my friend is getting married and has asked me to do the engagement pictures. Her fiance' lives in IL and he's coming here for Christmas so we're doing it Christmas Eve day... for the actual shoot I asked them to think of a Christmasy couple song, such as Winter Wonderland or Sleigh Ride, they like and we'll do a series based on whatever song they choose.

But here's the catch - the couple has a 'no-touch' policy... so I need some pose ideas that take that into consideration, yet still show the dynamic between them.

Help?

that's gonne be hard, emotions are what you are taking pictures of in this case so you would need to talk to them to illicit the right expression. maybe ask him to tell her something he has never told her, something funny..things like that. Also set up scenes, handing each other gifts, peeking around a tree, having a coffee together

By "no touch" does that also mean they cannot be sitting so close that their body parts will not come into contact with one another? If so, I don't know how I would do the shoot.

Haha, yes. It's a religious belief.

No... they can sit close to each other. Basically, no holding hands, embracing, or kissing.

Get them looking at each other. Capture the emotions in the eyes. Have them lay on the ground with their heads next to each other and you square above them (yes, I know it's cheesy and been done before, but it accomplishes the task at hand). Can he touch her hair? If so, have him brush it out of her face and get that. Let him give her a flower and they look at each other over it, both holding it, but not the other one's hand.

Good luck! Make sure to post your shots afterwards.

I'd try p[ictures of them laughing together over something or as Zona said, have them doing something they like together. Sharing a bicycle (one clcling, one on handlebars), sharing one soda with two straws, close up looking into each others eyes, etc.

Im sure their ready to get married. They will have their own emotions, you wont have direct them on doing anything. Good luck, post up those pics!

Thanks so much for your ideas!

Unfortunately,,, today my friend told me they had decided not to do the shot, at least not this time he's here - not sure if they'll reschedule or not.
