Arrow 2010 Calender

Hi,

I am planning to do a 2010 Calender for Kids till age 12 for Indian Community. I would like to get some ideas on following:
  1. Different Poses for Kids
  2. Back Drops
  3. Props
  4. Lighting
  5. Something that I need to know

We have got advertising to take care of the cost of printing 500 calenders (A3 folded in half) and I will put my ad on each page (This is what I will get for the work)

Thanks

One thing to consider is getting model releases for each person featured in the calendar (including parental signatures for each child).

Presumably the main subjects will be children from this community? What kind of things do you see as you walk around there?

That is an excellent idea. I went to the site pointed out by nicole and made my model release form from the template.

Sorry Wulf, I didn't understand the question above properly!

First question: will the subjects be children from the community you are selling to?

If so, then you may definitely want to draw inspiration from the place they live in (unless you want to go completely the opposite way and present them in "fantasy" settings.

Second question: what ideas do you get looking round that community? For example, maybe there is a water fountain or bench where the children tend to congregate after rushing around. Working the bench into a shot would be a way to capture something of the character of the place and some memories the kids may treasure when they find copies of your calendar in future years.

Thats an excellent idea. Infact by doing so I will be engaging kids and their parents as the place will be dear to both of them.

Nice advise. Thanks

I suggest you one thing as you are going to shoot Indian kids. I am sure all of your Indian Kids are originated from different states of India(There are 28 states in India) and hope you know that every states of India has their own cultures. So what I like to suggest you is get the kids with costumes of different states of India(definitely Indian costumes are rich and colorful). I am sure you will get a colorful calender for Indian Kids which reminds them their homeland.
All the best.

Raveen: Another great idea. This will make the calender look colourful and also make connection with motherland.

Cheers
