I like the composition on the shots, but i think you got the white balance wrong.

A thing i would think could do some magic: (In PS)

Duplicate the background layer twice.
Make the two new layers B/W
Make the lower B/W layer overlay
Make the upper B/W layer screen

Play around with the opacity on the two B/W layers, and i would think you could get a more natural look.

I hope you don't mind. I was curious to see what effects johanmw's advice would have. This was a very quick & sloppy attempt. I'm not real great at PP. With a little more work, it could be a lot better.

Okay, since someone else did it, I'll up my attempt.

Adjusted levels and Color Balance. Cyan/Red got shifted waaay left, and Yellow/Blue got shifted waaay right. Magenta/Green unchanged. Some cropping to get rid of the wall edge on the left and the white lamp reflected in the window and chop off the extraneous tree at the top.

Very good for you first ever photo shoot.

First I'd like to say the shots of the baby are beautiful, and I agree with everyone that the chair in behind is a little distracting. My idea would be to bring the green blanket up a bit, maybe even use one or two pins (at the top) to secure it.

With the family shots, I find Dad is almost towering over them. One idea that works is to have the top of Mom's head at about the eye level of Dad.

I would've had them sitting down preferably on stools. Mom in front on a 45 degree angle with baby on her lap. Dad straddling the stool in behind Mom. This brings all three of them closer together.

All in all, very good for your first shoot Keep up the good work.

i like the people and the catchlights, but can't help to think it's a bit underexposed. obviously the white balance needs serious correction. it's a shame you couldn't have stood more to the right as the window is also distracting.
