Christmas ball photography

Hi all,

I have been asked to be the photographer for a Christmas ball coming up. This will involve any number of people (between 2 and around 20) dressed formally for each photo. I will have a plain background available and either 1 or 2 wireless flashes and umbrellas for lighting.
I am looking for suggestions or tips from people who have done this before for what to look out for/be careful of.

Make sure you have your lighting set up before hand so you dont have shadows. Ask them if you can come in early or the day before and do some practice shots so you know just what to expect.
Are they wanting them printed on the spot? What color is the background?

I will have a time to practice before the day on location, so will get as many test shots done as possible. The background will most likely be a dark, single colour. I will not be printing on the spot, but will take orders and have them delivered to them within a few days.
