Hi all!
I'm new here and VERY new to the photography world. I have a Sony A200, and I have a hard time taking self portraits. They always come out blurry, even if I put an object for the camera to focus on. I get really discouraged b/c I'm shy and feel a little ashamed for someone else to take my pictures. lol..it's sad but true. So, my question is, if I buy a remote commander(control) for this camera, will it be able to focus and take a self portrait clearly? Thanks SO much. Kim |

Check your shutter speed first. Then, auto focus on something that is in the same place you will be. When it is focuses, turn auto focus off. Your camera may be focusing on the object and then trying to refocus when you sit down, prior to the timer going off. I would say to spend the 20 bucks and get a remote shutter. You will use it!

Thank you SO much! This REALLY helps. I ordered an Opteka shutter release cord for around $20. I'm pretty excited for it to get here so that I can see some improvement in my self portraits.
I didn't think about switching to manual focus after it's been auto-focused so as to not lose the focus. I will DEFINITELY try that and see how it works. I really appreciate your help! Thank you. Kim
