Default Backdrop Color for B&W Themed Event

I'm shooting a big birthday party next month. It's going to black and white themed. I'll be doing candid shots as well as have a little area off to the side with lights and backdrop where people can have quick portraits taken. Considering most everyone will be wearing black and white, any suggestions on what color backdrop to use? I have a black one, a white one and an ugly grey one. Not sure what color would work best with B&W clothing. Looking for suggestions and I don't mind purchasing another backdrop.

What if you shot them on a red background
or
used the grey background like a green screen then in post just slide the pictures on really classic backgrounds.

Good suggestions. I was leaning towards red. As far as changing the background in PP, I'll have to read up on that. I use PSE and while I can do some intermediate stuff I mostly stick to the basics when processing. Maybe I'll explore that though. Thanks much!

two different suggestions: are your edited delivery images going to be black and white or full-colour?

If black/white: a blue background. Royal blue. It sounds weird, but when you convert it to B/W, its a dark grey which works well for formal attire. It'll also make people pop more.

If colour: cant say I can help you much, sadly.

Hmmmm...hadn't thought of B/W, and that's a great tip on the blue background. Definititely something to think about. Thanks!
