Default Advice

Hello, I am trying to find some help on a photo that I have been asked to do. Although it maybe a very basic question to most, it is not to me and I would like your help.

I have only shot single subject portraits using the center AF only, focus and recompose technique in the one shot mode. However I have been asked to shoot a large group shot and a couple shot (business owners).

Believe it or not I have never done this before. I know it sounds funny to many here but what AF mode should I use? Where would I focus to get all subjects in focus? Sorry for such a basic question but I would really appreciate your help (plz no insults) as this means a lot to me. Any other tips/techniques would be very helpful.

Thank you so much!

I have posted examples of the photos I will be taking:
